マルコス・ヴァーリとパウロ・セルジオ・ヴァーリ兄弟が手がけたブラジルのTVドラマ『Selva De Pedra』のサウンド・トラック。グルーヴィーなコーラスが素晴らしいオズマール・ミリートとクアルテート・フォルマの「Manda To」、「Corpo Sano Em Mente Sa」、Madvillianの「Raid」ネタ「America Latina」、グルーヴィーなオーケストラとコーラスが素晴らしいタイトル曲「Selva De Pedra」等グルーヴィーなブラジリアン・ノヴェラ傑作。

良盤。彼らの最高傑作と言う方も多い5thアルバムでオリジナル・レイナード・スキナードのラストアルバム。発売3日後に飛行機の墜落によりロニー・ヴァン・ザント、スティーヴ・ゲインズを失ったためカバー写真が不吉だということで発禁になり改訂される前のオリジナル・カバー。ヒットした「What’s Your Name」、「That Smell」収録。
